Serbian diaspora from Belgium meets Serbians in Luxembourg Luxembourg, 31.05.2010 In organization with Serbian community and Serbian church in Brussels it was organized the visit of Diaspora to the small Serbian community living in Luxembourg where was attended the service in the church of "Saint Constantine and Helena". The Holy service was held by Vladika Luka and the priests from Serbian churches in Benelux. Serbian flag in Rovereto: honour to all the victims of war Rovereto, 18.04.2010 Somebody had said that the greatness of one people is measured by the respect that people has for their origins and their past. It took a lot of time and work to add Serbian flag to historic monument of Rovereto, and by that honour Serbian soldiers from the past wars. This important ceremony was organized under auspices of "Kolo srpskih sestrara", "Srpska Sloga" and our representative Djordje Milovanovic who was the godfather of the event. Nevertheless, the most important pillar of this symbolic initiative was the Church and Serbian people who came from all parts of Italy to celebrate raising of the Serbian flag and honouring Serbian vicitims of the war.
Youth to represent Serbians from Italy in the Assembly of Diaspora Trieste, 11.04.2010 On the meeting of all Serbian organizations in Italy, today was elected its representative for the Assembly in Belgrade. Danica Krstic from organization Mostovi was appointed as its delegate. Next meeting of organizations who proved to be capable of working together was scheduled for mid May. " It is up to us now to build the fondaments for Union of Serbs in Italy and by that help our newly elected member" said EDC head of Human rights and Immigration division Djordje Milanovic.
Balkan Trafik - Balkan Festival in Brussels Brussels, 01.04.2010
This year will be held the traditional festival of Balkan music and culture that unite in one place all the Balkan countries. As one of the most popular festivals, the Balkans traffic every year, hosts winners of the festival in Guca, but also a large number of Serbian musicians, artists and other distinguished guests. This year, under the auspices of the European Development Centre and the Delegate of the diaspora for the Benelux countries, Mrs. Ana Milosevic, will be shooted a short documentary to be aired on state television. "Our goal is introduce public in Serbia with Serbian Diaspora in Benelux. About how much is this cultural festival important for the promotion of Serbia speaks in favor of the fact that it is supported also by our Government, Embassies and Tourist Organization of Serbia. Culture and music are the most beautiful message to send to all those who want to come in Serbia and be our guests: In Serbia, you are most welcome! " Festival starts on 8th April and ends on Saturday 11th of April. Among the guests from Serbia will be: Ekrem Mamutovic Orchestra, Corba band, the band KAL, Shira u'tfila... There will be as well projection of documentary films made by two of our young directors: The last hole on the flute and The long road - driving through Balkan history, directed by V. Open dialogue: now we need right strategy Vicenza, 29.03.2010
Great number of Serbian
organizations, members of non-profit sector met today in Vicenza,
northern Italy to discuss EDC's proposition on forming Union of
Serbs in Italy. The representatives of "Srpska Sloga", "SKZ
Arzinjano", "Majka Srbija", " Nikola Tesla" from Triste and other
organizations from Roveretto discussed on this subject. The consul
Mrs. Kotlajic from Consulate representation of the Republic of
Serbia opened this session and underlined the importance of this
initiative of European centre. Serbian ortodox church members leaded
by father Topic were also among speakers.
"Nobody doubts in need for unique and strong Serbian community in Italy." - said Djordje Milanovic, the moderator of this meeting. " We are glad that great number of organizations came today to discuss our proposition." -said the president of EDC and added " This is a clear message that we have good basis to come up with a concrete results." The meeting continued with partecipation of public and discussion on terms and ways of forming the Union. The next meeting is arranged for the 11th of April and will be hosted by Serbian community in Triste.
The second meeting of the Serbian organization
in Italy
Vicenza, 23.03.2010
European Development Center is organizing
the second meeting of the Serbian organization in Italy, in Vicenza,
28th of March this year.
In
collaboration with the "Serbian Sloga" at this meeting were invited
representatives of the diplomatic corps of the Republic of Serbia, the
existing organization of the Serbian diaspora and citizenship.
During
this
working meeting will be talked about the establishment of the Union of
Serbs in Italy and selection of the deputy for the Assembly of the
diaspora.
President of EDC Ana Milosevic elected Deputy in National Assembly of Diaspora Bruxelles, 15.03.2010 For the first time in history of the Republic of Serbia was voted
the Law that regulates rights of numerous Serbian diaspora living
abroad. After a lot of struggle and constructive negotiations, the
draft of the law became law its self and to Serbians from all around
the globe was given chance to choose among themselves their
representative in the National Assembly.Benelux diaspora,
covering Netherlands, Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
gathered in Brussels to vote their deputy.
